What’s yellow, translucent, very sticky, and is the newest ally of the Survey Corps? Why, it’s Gudetama!

Sanrio’s beloved egg character, Gudetama, is coming to the world of Attack on Titan soon. The popular character will be featured in a few collaborative goods to celebrate AoT’s 10-year anniversary.

In a key visual released by AoT, the adorable egg can be seen interacting with a few of Hajime Isayama’s characters.

You can spot Gudetama hanging out in Mikasa Ackerman’s iconic red scarf. Another character, captain Levi Ackerman, had the egg resting on his shoulder.

Created in 2013, Gudetama, which literally means “lazy egg” in Japanese, is a cartoon egg famous for its honest commentary on modern society, often expressing thoughts on laziness and procrastination. Since its release, the fictional egg has grown to become one of Sanrio’s most popular characters, even getting its own Netflix television series.

In the same year in 2013, the anime adaptation of Isayama’s AoT was released. The anime follows the story of Eren Yeager and his friends Mikasa and Armin Arlert, as they battle giant humanoids called Titans and save humanity from the brink of extinction.
