The process of unlocking every single gun in Warzone 2.0 can be daunting, especially since some weapons are tied to leveling up others.
As it turns out, there is a quicker way to unlock guns in Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. This method involves the DMZ, the new extraction-style mode inspired by games like Escape from Tarkov.
When you survive and exfiltrate with a contraband weapon in DMZ, that weapon is automatically unlocked in the other game modes, allowing you to sidestep the grind entirely.

Exfiltrate weapons in DMZ to unlock guns in Warzone 2.0
Any items acquired from a DMZ match will be placed in your storage once you successfully exfil from Al Mazrah. This includes contraband weapons, which refer to any guns you loot and extract.
They can be obtained from ground loot, enemy players, or even AI opponents. These weapons can come with up to five different random attachments, or the attachments that enemies equipped if you obtained them from a player.
But once a gun is in your storage, it will be unlocked in Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2. For instance, if you extract a Lachmann Sub SMG, it will be available for use in the other two game modes, even if you have not unlocked the Lachmann-762 or Lachmann-556.
And even if you take the gun back into the field in your next match and lose it, it will remain permanently unlocked in the other modes.
You don’t even have to search for the gun yourself. If you’re a new player with more experienced friends who have already obtained the gun you want, they can simply load into Al Mazrah with you, drop the weapon, and allow you to extract with it.
This is a godsend for players unhappy with how much of a grind is required to unlock certain weapons in the game.
It is particularly handy for weapons that need you to jump through several hoops, such as the Kastov-74U, Vaznev-9K, and Minibak.
This mechanic is a prime example of the way Infinity Ward is managing all three games. While they each technically exist in their own silos, there is a certain level of cross-progression that encourages players to check out all three modes.
