We have our first glimpse at the cutthroat The International 11 Last Chance Qualifiers.

12 of the second and third-placed teams from the Regional Qualifiers are clinging onto their last hopes to attend the biggest Dota 2 event of the year. The TI11 Last Chance Qualifier will see just two teams exiting the crowded field, joining the 18 already qualified for TI11.

PGL, which is organizing the tournament, revealed the groups last night, along with the format and schedule of the tournament.

The qualifier will run from October 8 to 12, with the group stage happening over the first two days.

Group A

  • Team Secret
  • Vici Gaming
  • Polaris
  • Natus Vincere
  • Nouns
  • Tempest

Group B

  • Team Liquid
  • Xtreme Gaming
  • T1
  • Virtus Pro
  • Wildcard
  • Infamous

It seems that PGL split the teams based on their performance in their Regional Qualifiers. The 2nd-placed teams for Western Europe, Southeast Asia, and North America are Group A, while the 2nd-placed teams for China, Southeast Asia, and Eastern Europe are in Group B.

On the surface, it looks like Group B might be the more challenging group. Team Liquid, Xtreme Gaming, and Virtus Pro have shown that they can battle with the best throughout the Dota Pro Circuit season. Meanwhile, T1 will be bolstered by the addition of former OG stalwarts, Anathan “ana” Pham and Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen.

But the groups are just the first part of the qualifiers. After a round-robin best-of-two, teams are seeded into a double elimination bracket, where the top four teams from each group will comprise the upper bracket, and the bottom two teams in the lower bracket.

Through the group stage, four games will be running separately on PGL’s Twitch streams: PGL_Dota2, PGL_DOTAEN2, PGL_DOTA2EN3, and PGL_DOTA2EN4. The broadcasts will also be available on YouTube.
