European organization Alliance have announced that they have officially signed former Gamnbit Esports captain Artsiom “fng” Barshak to be their position 5 support player.
Fng has been playing with Alliance since May, when he was first loaned by Gambit to his new team. Gambit notably parted ways with fng earlier this month after his contract with them expired at the end of August.
Fng is one of the most experienced captains and position 5 support players from the CIS Dota 2 scene, having played under the likes of Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere in his seven-year professional career.
“It was Fng’s overall support, but also his individual decisions and incredible game understanding, that played a key role in the team’s victory over EG. This shows why fng is one of the most respected CIS players,” Alliance said in a statement.

“With fng joining our team we are not just getting a mechanically good support player, but also a very experienced captain and drafter. Can’t wait to see how many unexpected ideas we can come up with when we combine our game visions,” said Alliance captain Gustav “s4” Magnusson.
Fng has been a valuable pickup for Alliance since they parted ways with Fata and 33 at the end of March to make way for the return of s4 in April.
Since joining the team, he has helped Alliance to two second place finishes at ESL One Birmingham Online EU/CIS and OGA Dota PIT EU/CIS Season 2 as well as a fourth place finish at the recently-concluded OMEGA League Europe Immortal Division.
