PSG.LGD’s stalwart carry player, Wang “Ame” Chunyu, led his team to a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Four Angry Men (4AM) superteam to reign supreme at the CDA-FDC Dota 2 Professional Championship.

This marks PSG.LGD’s second championship since they reformed the team around Ame and and The International 2016 champions Zhang “Faith_bian” Ruida and Zhang “y`” Yiping in the Chinese roster shuffle in September.

In October, the new PSG.LGD squad won their first tournament together at the China Dota2 Pro Cup Season 1 in a 3-0 sweep over EHOME, then narrowly lost OGA Dota PIT: China Season 3 to Vici Gaming, 2-3.

With their latest victory over the 4AM superteam, PSG.LGD now cement themselves as the top team in China and take home ¥200,000, or around US$30,000, for their troubles.

Here’s a breakdown of the grand finals:

4AM stunned PSG.LGD in game one behind a tri-core of Troll Warlord for Zhang “Eurus” Chengjun, Leshrac for Lu “Somnus丶M” Yao, and Nature’s Prophet for Zhou “Yang” Haiyang. The trio combined for a 13/1/27 KDA as the superteam cruised to a 30-minute victory in the opener.

PSG.LGD bounced back in game two with a burst-heavy lineup featuring Ame on Lifestealer, Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang on a mid Zeus, Faith-bian on an offlane Tiny, and Zhao “XinQ” Zixing on a support Lina.

NothingToSay led the way with a game-high 12/2/13 KDA, Ame followed with 10/1/15, while XinQ had a clean 9/0/20 line as PSG.LGD tied up the series after 38 minutes of action.

4AM dominated for much of game three behind Eurus’ Sven, but PSG.LGD survived their opponents’ onslaught long enough for Ame’s Antimage to lead them to a comeback win at the 54-minute mark.

Eurus had a series-high 20 kills against three deaths in the loss, while Ame’s 17/2/7 KDA led PSG.LGD to victory.

4AM ran with Eurus on Sven once more in the pivotal game four, having him lead a teamfight-heavy tri-core with Somnus on Queen of Pain and Yang on Mars.

The superteam held the lead from the start and never looked back, forcing the series to a deciding game five after 32 minutes. Eurus once again had a game-high 12/1/4 KDA while Somnus pitched in with a clean 9/0/15 line.

Game five was a battle between the ranged hard carries, with 4AM putting Eurus on Arc Warden while PSG.LGD pinned their hopes on Ame’s Drow Ranger.

4AM surrounded their carry with strong teamfight heroes, with Somnus on Void Spirit, Yang on Mars, and Xu “fy” Linsen on Phoenix. PSG.LGD went with a formidable frontline, with NothingToSay on a mid Magnus and Faith_bian on Slardar, while XinQ had Lina again to help Ame deal damage from afar.

4AM got off to an early lead after scoring an early teamwipe on PSG.LGD in the midlane, but the latter was able to keep pace in farm to even things out.

4AM were able to take their opponents’ mid barracks at the 31-minute mark but failed to push their advantage, giving PSG.LGD the opening they needed to stage another comeback win behind Ame’s unstoppable Drow Ranger to take the series and the championship.

NothingToSay had a game-high eight kills against four deaths in the 51-minute decider, with XinQ and Ame pitching in with seven and five kills of their own.
