Beyond the Summit has announced that the American division of the BTS Pro Series will return for a third season, featuring ten teams from North and South America battling for a US$50,000 prize pool.
The tournament will run from September 7-22, kicking off with a group stage from September 7-18 followed by the playoffs from September 19-22.
North America will be represented by Business Associates, CR4ZY, and 4 Zoomers. Meanwhile, South America will be represented by Beastcoast, Thunder Predator, Infamous, Havan Liberty, and Team Brazil.
There will be one more directly invited team joining the event, while the last spot will be filled by whichever squad wins the Open Qualifier this weekend.
Evil Geniuses and Quincy Crew, the two top teams in North America and the respective winners of the first two seasons of the event, are notably absent from the list of participating teams for season three.
BTS Pro Series Americas Season 3 is notably a welcome event for the North and South American Dota 2 scenes, the two regions that have suffered the most from the Dota Pro Circuit’s continued suspension.
With The International 2020 and the DPC not expected to happen any time this year, many of the players, teams, and organizations in the two regions have struggled to continue operations.
The third season of Beyond the Summit’s online league for the Americas should help the teams in both regions continue competing and keep the competitive scene alive.
