Beyond the Summit has announced that the third season of the BTS Pro Series will include a new league for Europe and the CIS, which will run from September 12 to 27.
The new BTS Pro Series: EU/CIS league will have a US$50,000 prize pool to be fought over by nine teams: Ninjas in Pyjamas, Vikin.gg, 5men, Team Unique, B8, Khan, Team Empire, HellRaisers, and mudgolems.
The event notably features tier two teams in its list of participants. Teams in the lower tiers of competitive scenes all around the world have struggled since the Dota Pro Circuit was indefinitely suspended by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic earlier this year.
BTS Pro Series: EU/CIS will kick off with a single round robin Group Stage running from September 12 to 22. The top four teams of the Group Stage will advance to the Upper Bracket of the Playoffs. The fifth to eighth-placed teams will start the Playoffs from the Lower Bracket while the ninth-placed team will be eliminated.
The Playoffs is set to run from September 23 to 27 and will be a double elimination bracket with all matches being a best-of-three except for the Grand Finals, which will be a best-of-five series.
Prior to the announcement of its new EU/CIS league, the BTS Pro Series has only hosted leagues for the Americas and Southeast Asia in its first two seasons.
