Beyond the Summit has announced that the Southeast Asian division of the BTS Pro Series will return for a third season, featuring ten of the best teams from the region competing for a US$50,000 prize pool.
The tournament will run from September 12-27, kicking off with a group stage from September 12-23 followed by the playoffs from September 24-27.
Regional powerhouses Fnatic and TNC Predator lead the list of participating teams alongside other established teams in BOOM Esports, Neon Esports, NEW Esports, Execration, 496 Gaming, and Motivate.Trust Gaming.
The tournament will also mark the debut of two new SEA squads: Zerothreetwo (032) and Among Us.
Meanwhile, Among Us is a temporary star-studded stack comprised of former Geek Fam players Carlo “Kuku” Palad and Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon as well as former Fnatic players Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon and Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong. The squad is rounded out by Evil Geniuses midlaner Abed Azel “Abed” Yusop.
With the continued suspension of the Dota Pro Circuit, online tournaments such as the BTS Pro Series will surely help the Southeast Asian Dota scene remain afloat until its return some time next year.
The third season of Beyond the Summit’s online league will host a third iteration of its American division alongside a new EU/CIS league that mainly focuses on tier two competition.
