The TI11 Last Chance Qualifier group stage’s dust settles after a gruelling two days of competition.
No teams have been eliminated from contending the two remaining slots at The International 11 main event—but there’s a clear gulf forming going into the playoffs.
Both North and South American teams endured torrid group stages. All four representatives from the regions finished in the bottom two of their group—making the lower bracket an all-Americas standoff.

Natus Vincere carried on their strong day one performance in day two, with two split series against runner-ups Team Secret and Vici Gaming to secure the top spot in Group A.
VG, Secret and Polaris Esports finished with the same records, and their final order was determined with head-to-head results.
VG and Polaris were the two surprises to come out of Group A. Polaris was a team that finished 0-7 in Tour 3 of the Dota Pro Circuit Division I circuit, which means they will play in Div II next year. But after a few roster changes, they’ve made a good account of themselves in the group stage—though there’s still a lot of Dota to play before the TI11 tickets are given out.
VG had a similar story, finishing seventh in the DPC Tour 3 with a 3-4 record. But changing their roster before the LCQ seems to have had a similar effect. Offlaner-turned hard support Zhou “Yang” Haiyang having some particularly standout performances, especially on Tusk.

Group B

Team Liquid capped off their groups performance with a clean 4-0 in day two, the only team to go undefeated today. This helped them secure an 8-2 record, in a Group B regarded to have several of the favorites coming out of the LCQ.
Meanwhile, Xtreme Gaming and Virtus Pro faltered a little compared to their results on day one—with no small contribution by T1.
The Southeast Asian team went 1-3 on day one, before stomping the second day with a 4-2 record. Against XG and VP, T1 accumulated three wins against two of the strongest teams in the group, before securing their upper bracket slot with a 1-1 series against Wildcard Gaming.
The battle for TI main event qualification continues tomorrow with the playoffs, where two series will be running concurrently for most of the competition on two separate broadcasts — PGL_Dota2 and PGL_DOTAEN2.
