CIS organization Gambit Esports has announced that they have parted ways with their Dota 2 team captain Artsiom “fng” Barshak.
Gambit revealed in a post on their official Twitter account that fng’s contract with the team expired on August 31 and that both sides have mutually agreed not to extend it.
Fng is one of the most experienced captains and position 5 support players from the CIS Dota 2 scene, having played under the likes of Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere in his seven-year professional career.
He first joined Gambit back in December 2018 on loan from Team Spirit then officially joined the organization in April of the next year.
Before the 2019-2020 Dota Pro Circuit season was shut down, fng was able to lead Gambit to a second place finish at ESL One Hamburg 2019, a third place finish at the ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore, and a fourth place finish at the WePlay! Bukovel Minor.

Fng played his last game with Gambit back in April, after which he was loaned to Alliance, who he has been playing with since May.
Alliance have not yet made a formal announcement on whether fng will be fully integrated into their roster now that he has been released by Gambit.
With fng’s departure and midlaner Danil “gpk” Skutin currently being loaned to Evil Geniuses, only carry player Kiyalbek “dream” Tayirov and Danial “XSvamp1Re” Alibaev remain on Gambit’s roster.
