EA has announced a suspension of all of its offline esports events as a preventive measure against the pandemic COVID-19 coronavirus.
The suspension includes:
- Apex Legends Global Series
- EA Sports FIFA 20 Global Series
- FIFA Online 4 Live Events
- Madden NFL 20 Championship Series
Third-party EA-licensed events have also been put on hold until the situation improves.
- These are the games people are playing while they’re under home quarantine
- NBA 2K League suspended following suspension of actual NBA
Scheduled events and broadcasts online will continue despite the suspension.
“As we continue to monitor the situation around the coronavirus and receive updated guidance from health officials around the world, we will use this time to determine next steps for moving forward with all of EA’s Competitive Gaming live events and online broadcasts,” according to an official statement released by EA.
