Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard and Liverpool center-back Virgil van Dijk have been revealed as the first two cover stars for FIFA 2020’s Standard and Champion editions.
Hazard will appear on the cover of the Standard Edition, while van Dijk will grace the Champions Edition cover.
A third cover star for the game’s Ultimate Edition has yet to be named.
Widely considered as one of best football players in the world today, Hazard made a splash in June when he left Chelsea for Real Madrid for a five-year, €100 million contract.
This is not the first time that Hazard will appear on the cover of a FIFA game, as the Belgian star headlined FIFA 15 alongside Lionel Messi while wearing Chelsea’s colors.
“EA Sports FIFA is the biggest football game on the planet, and I have been playing it for years against my brothers,” Hazard said in a press release.
“I am lucky to have been on the cover before, but to be on FIFA 20 globally is amazing.”
For Van Dijk, this is a first. The Dutch star is regarded as one of the best defenders in the world and has excelled as the captain of his country’s national team.
“It is a huge honor for me to be on the cover of FIFA 20,” Van Dijk said. “I’ve been playing FIFA for as long as I can remember.”
“It’s an extremely proud moment for me to be representing Liverpool FC on the cover of such an iconic game.”
FIFA 20 will be available on September 27 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Pre-ordering the FIFA 20 Ultimate Edition prior to August 5 will grant owners an untradeable FUT 20 Ones to Watch Player Item, up to 24 Rare Gold Packs, special edition FUT kits, and access to the game three days ahead of its public release.
Meanwhile, those who pre-order the FIFA 20 Champions Edition will receive up to 12 Rare Gold Packs, special edition FUT kits, and early access on September 24 as well.
