Fortnite: Battle Royale has partnered with the smartphone company Samsung to release an exclusive K-pop-themed skin for Fortnite players who purchase the new Samsung Galaxy S10+ device.
The new skin is officially called the iKONIK outfit, which is inspired by K-pop star Jung Changwoo from the boyband iKON. The existence of the skin was actually discovered in the game’s files some time ago, and it has only just now been officially confirmed by the partnership between Fortnite and Samsung.
“Lead your squad to victory with the new iKONIK outfit. It brings K-Pop finesse to your look. Get iKONIK now when you level-up to Samsung’s most powerful gaming device yet — the Galaxy S10+,” Fortnite’s official description of the skin reads.
Samsung claims that its Galaxy S10+ device would suitable for gaming, as it features up to 1TB of storage, 8GB of RAM, and an 855 Snapdragon processor.
However, the new device is set to be launched in early March, which means its accompanying skin won’t be available by the time Fortnite Season 8 is expected to go live at the end of February.
Most new Fortnite skins would be available by purchasing a seasonal Battle Pass. However, the iKONIK skin won’t be available if you didn’t purchase a Galaxy S10+ even if you have a Battle Pass.
Players may still want to get the Season 8 Battle Pass because it has been made free for all who completed 13 of Fortnite’s Overtime Challenges before February 27. Check here for more details.
