Epic Games has announced that the release of Season 3 of Fortnite: Battle Royale Chapter 2 has been delayed further to June 11.
The new season was originally set to launch on April 30 before the release was first delayed to June 4 in mid-April.
Epic explained that the release was once again postponed “in an effort to get everything ready or Chapter 2 Season 3.” The developer did not go into further detail on the exact reasoning behind both delays.
To appease a Fortnite community that has been eagerly awaiting the release of a new season, Epic also announced that they will be hosting a one-time-only live event called The Device on June 6 at 2 p.m. ET (June 7, 2 a.m. GMT+8).

The event will most likely be the conclusion of the Season 2 storyline, which saw two rival factions of secret agents turn the Fortnite island into their own battleground.
This isn’t the first time a new season for Fortnite Chapter 2 has been delayed. Season 2 also saw a delay of several weeks, launching on February 20 instead of its original December schedule.
