Singapore’s Resurgence looks set to get a bunch of Lenovo loot drops.
The esports organization announced today that it had picked up Lenovo as a sponsor, who will be supplying its teams with gaming gear from its Legion brand, as well as monetary support for upgrading its headquarters and training facility.
Esports is a quickly gaining ground, especially in Southeast Asia, which features the fastest-growing esports audience and is expected to reach 31.9 million this year, according to Newzoo. The upcoming Southeast Asian Games taking place in the Philippines will also feature medals for esports events. Lenovo’s move to partner Resurgence, which has players competing in the upcoming SEA games, makes a lot of sense.
Resurgence features teams across seven games such as Hearthstone, League of Legends, Fortnite, Arena of Valor, PUBG, Starcraft II and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and will get 12 Legion T530 towers to use , while players would sport new Lenovo Legion jerseys.
“There are a lot of common values shared by both Resurgence and Lenovo,” said Jayf Soh, Resurgence Founder, Owner and CEO.
“We share the belief in pushing limits until they shatter and its a huge honor to be recognized and endorsed by such a premier global brand.”
For Lenovo, the partnership shows Lenovo’s commitment to gaming, with Eddie Ang, Lenovo Singapore’s General Manager adding that the partnership is its way of extending its passion and “continuous investment in gaming to the wider esports community”.
