Garena has finally unveiled details about the Free Fire Philippines Open (FFPO), the mobile battle royale’s first-ever PH-exclusive tournament.
The online-only tournament builds on Garena’s efforts to engage the Phillippine gaming community with Free Fire esports opportunities.
Details about the Free Fire Philippines Open
The Free Fire Philippines Open will take place from July 20 to August 1, featuring three stages that players will have to go through.
Tournament format and prize pool
- Qualifiers (July 5-9)
- League Stage (July 20-25)
- Grand Finals (August 1)
The Qualifiers will host thousands of the nation’s best FF squads, but only 12 of them will advance to the League Stage.
The 12 teams will then be drawn into three groups, containing a mix of qualified and invited teams. In each group, there will be four qualifying teams accompanied by two invited teams. The League Stage will feature a total of 18 teams who will compete for six days.
The top 12 teams of the League Stage will make their way to the Grand Finals and fight for a lion’s share of the PHP1M (US$50,000) prize pool.
Competitive format and point system
All stages of the FFPO will follow the usual competitive format, allocating points to teams based on their round ranking and number of kills.
The Qualifiers stage will drop its teams across Bermuda and Kalahari while the League Stage and Grand Finals will include Purgatory as a third map in the rotation.

How to register for the Free Fire Philippines Open
To be eligible for the FFPO, you must be 12 years old and above in 2021 and a Filipino citizen.
If your Free Fire squad could be the best in the Philippines, you can sign your team up through the official Free Fire Philippines Open page.
Registration for the FFPO will be open until June 25.
