The new Diablo game will not be on mobile and promises to send chills down your spine.
The latest installment of the Diablo franchise was unveiled at BlizzCon today and, unlike last year’s Diablo Immortal reveal, the response from the thousands in attendance was overwhelmingly positive.
Following an epic nine-minute reveal trailer (which you can watch in its entirety below), game director Luis Barriga took to the stage to share more details on the game.
The direction for Diablo IV has always been to return the series to its roots, which means it will be darker, scarier, and more gory, according to Barriga.
Blizzard wanted to recapture the sense of dread gamers first felt when they encountered the Butcher in the original Diablo over 20 years ago and you can see some of this in the trailer. It is set in a dark and foreboding tomb, and features plenty of blood, body horror, and visceral action.
The end of the trailer also shows the return of Lilith, daughter of Mephisto and Queen of the Succubi, and presumably the main antagonist of the game.

Barriga also revealed that Diablo IV will take the best elements from the other three titles in the series. Along with the horror elements of the original Diablo, Blizzard has drawn from the loot chase of Diablo II, and the combat of Diablo III.
The game will feature the town of Sanctuary at the front and center, but you’ll also venture out into the world and meet players in friendly towns, or combat them in PVP zones.
A separate gameplay trailer showed that the first three classes for the game will be the Barbarian, Sorceress, and Druid. The trailer also confirms that there will be mounts.
Diablo IV will release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
