Want to relive the heyday of Street Fighter II, Strider, 1942, Bionic Commando, and more? Come February 2021, you can do just that — if you own a Nintendo Switch, that is.
Capcom has revealed that a whopping 32 titles from its noteworthy arcade game library will be ported for the Switch in the form of Capcom Arcade Stadium. The collection includes a wide range of beloved action, shooter, and fighting games that can be purchased as a complete pack, or as separate 10-game packs divided according to three different eras of Capcom arcade prominence from 1984 through 2001.

At launch, you can download Capcom Arcade Stadium for free with one base game, 1943: The Battle of Midway. It’s a great way to check out the look and feel of this virtual arcade before shelling out for the complete 32-game collection, or any of the 10-game packs. You can also buy Ghosts ‘n Goblins as a stand-alone game.

Capcom Arcade Stadium does more than just bring back old favorites though. The set aims to emulate the experience of playing in the arcade with customizable display settings, such as graphics filters and 3D-rendered arcade cabinets complete with moving control sticks and buttons.
On top of that, the collection boasts features that also modernize these timeless classics. With Capcom Arcade Stadium, you can rewind in real-time instead of starting all over from the beginning every time you mess up. You can save and load your game progress — something you wouldn’t have been able to do on an arcade machine.
Capcom Arcade Stadium also lets you tweak difficulty levels and game speeds according to your level of experience. Game speed can even be adjusted on the fly if you just want to breeze past a tedious part of your favorite game.
Best of all, you don’t have to fill your pockets with quarters or tokens to play your favorite games.
Of course, the competitive element is retained in Capcom Arcade Stadium. This time though, you’re racing up the leaderboards not only against fellow gamers from your neighborhood, but against players from around the world through the game’s Score Challenge and Timed Challenge modes.
Pricing details for the different game pack options have yet to be announced.
