Razer announced the Razer Edge 5G at RazerCon 2022 today, a handheld gaming device that provides access to thousands of games on a single device.
From day one, the Razer Edge will be compatible with entire libraries of AAA games, including native Android titles and games like Fortnite and Rocket League Sideswipe, the latter two available through the pre-installed Epic Games launcher.
In addition, you’ll be able to take advantage of cloud streaming services like NVIDIA GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming (still in beta). Remote play options are available as well, offering full access to PC libraries via Steam Link, Moonlight, Parsec, and Xbox.

The Razer Edge 5G lets you bring your entire game library on the road
Razer’s handheld will immediately draw comparisons with the just-announced Logitech G Cloud. However, the Edge 5G appears to have the specs advantage on paper.
Its 6.8-inch AMOLED touchscreen 144Hz display has a 2,400 x 1,080-pixel resolution, compared to the Logitech’s 1080p screen and 60Hz refresh rate. AMOLED also produces deeper blacks than Logitech’s IPS offering, and supposedly faster response times, thermal performance, and viewing angles.
The Razer Edge 5G also comes bundled with the new Razer Kishi V2 Pro, which supports haptic feedback and a 3.5mm audio port. You also get a tactile directional pad and two analog joysticks.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 Gaming Platform, featuring a 3.0GHz octa-core Kryo CPU and an Adreno GPU. Razer says it is two to three times faster than the likes of the Snapdragon 720G, which is what the Logitech G Cloud uses.
You’ll also get 8GB of LPDDR5 memory, 128GB of storage, and support for Wi-Fi 6E. A 5,000 mAh battery powers the device.
Two variants will be available — the Razer Edge 5G and the Razer Edge Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi model will cost US$399 on Razer.com when it launches in January 2023. Pricing and availability for the 5G version has yet to be announced.
The 5G model will also be a Verizon exclusive, leveraging Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband for lower latency on the go.
