Reality Rift win the ONE Esports Dota 2 Jakarta Invitational Malaysia Regional Qualifier

Singapore’s Reality Rift have defeated Filipino team, Cignal Ultra, in the Grand Final of the ONE Esports Dota 2 Jakarta Invitational Malaysia Regional Qualifier, and have now qualified for the ONE Esports Dota 2 Indonesia Invitational.

In game one, Reality Rift got off to a slow start, but a clash at the 24-minute mark saw Cignal Ultra lose three heroes, and Reality Rift snowballed their advantage from there.

In game two, Cignal Ultra gambled on a cheese strat consisting of Phantom Lancer and Huskar, but it didn’t faze Reality Rift, who played a strong teamfight comp that saw them leading from the start. After 52-minutes, Reality Rift closed out the game and the series with a massive 36,000 gold lead.

Team Aster win the StarLadder Kyiv Minor

Team Aster dominated Alliance in the Grand Finals of the StarLadder Kyiv Minor taking home the grand prize of US$72,000, 140 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) points, and the all-important final slot for the ESL One Los Angeles Major.

Aster got off to a quick start, taking games one and two with relative ease thanks to strong teamfight compositions and excellent laning phases in both games.

In game three, Alliance managed to get themselves on the board after winning a vital team clash that saw them take down three Aster members and secure the Aegis.

However, a crucial misplay in game four saw Alliance practically give the Aegis to Aster, who gladly took it, won the ensuing teamfight, and then closed out the game and the series soon after.

LCK legends return for the Return of Champions Korea showmatch

Former players from the LCK gathered for a one-off “Return of Champions Korea” showmatch organized by Sandbox gaming.

The ten retired pros were divided into two teams, Demacia and Noxus, and played three games, each with unique rules. The only standing rule was that only heroes released before 2017 could be picked.

In game one, the players had to play a champion chosen for them by a prior online fan vote. Most fans voted for that player’s signature hero.

Game two paid homage to the old days of LCK days where game five was played in blind pick mode.

The final game followed a standard tournament draft.

In the end, Team Demacia, led by 2017 World Champion, Kang “Ambition” Chan-yong, was the winner, with a 2-1 final score.

Team SoloMid end Cloud9’s perfect season

Team SoloMid handed Cloud9 their first loss of the season in Week 7 of the LCS Spring Split.

A fairly close game saw both teams trading kills throughout, but it was TSM that took the advantage in the late game when Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett trapped four members of Cloud9 with a Cataclysm, allowing the rest of TSM to blow them up with a huge wombo combo.

With most of Cloud9 dead, TSM rushed their Nexus to take the game.
