Team Vitality stun G2 in Week 1 of the LEC
Spring Split bottom-dwellers Team Vitality have stunned reigning LEC Champions, G2 Esports, in week one of the LEC Summer Split. Vitality looked like a completely different squad from last season, and displayed excellent synergy, smart decision-making, and good team coordination.
Vitality top laner Lucas “Cabochard” Simon-Meslet was the game MVP, achieving a perfect 4/0/9 KDA in 29 minutes, a rare and impressive feat for a tank.
Cabochard’s Sion made great use of his Unstoppable Onslaught to crowd control G2, allowing his teammates to clean up for easy team fights.
Vitality ended up winning the game with a lopsided 19-4 kill score and 11,000 gold lead.
Yangon Galaticios wins the ONE Esports Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Invitational Myanmar Qualifier
Yangon Galaticios has qualified for the ONE Esports Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Invitational with a dominating performance in the Myanmar Qualifier, which included a 3-0 sweep over country rivals, Outworld, in the grand final.
While Outworld had some impressive individual plays, with standout performances from Cake and Shine in particular, it was Yangon Galaticios’ superior team coordination, map control, and target selection in team fights that saw them win three games in a row.
Yangon Galaticios now joins RRQ Hoshi, EVOS Legends, Resurgence, Burmese Ghouls, Geek Fam, Bren Esports, EVOS SG, Bigetron Alpha, Team Bosskurr, IDNS, and Cignal Ultra as the 12 teams who will battle it out for the US$150,000 prize pool.
T1 starts strong on Day 1 of the ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League
T1 got their SEA League campaign off to a great start on Day 1 of the ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League with a 2-0 victory over Execration.
In game one, T1 dominated the laning phase and never looked back. Wilson “Poloson” Koh Chin Wei’s support Earthshaker even managed to farm his blink dagger just 13 minutes into the game.
Galvin “Meracle” Kang Jian Wen’s Terrorblade finished the first game with a 16/2/10 KDA record, while Muhammad “inYourdreaM” Rizky’s mid lane Invoker put together a 12/2/18 KDA score.
In game two, it was Lee “Forev” Sang-don’s Kunkka that stood out, as he made great use of his Ghostship ultimate to keep his team alive in team fights.
The Dota 2 SEA League continues with three more weeks of regular season action before the playoffs kick off on July 15.
Riot releases a k-pop music video devoted to Valorant’s Operator sniper rifle
Riot Games has dropped a music video for its new first-person shooter Valorant, featuring K-hiphop artists Choi “Nafla” Seok Bae, Jung “Penomeco” Dong-wook, and Yang “Yunhway” Yoon-hwa.
The song is basically an ode to the Operator sniper rifle, which can be seen throughout the video.
Along with the Operator, several Valorant agents show up or are referenced in the video, including Reyna, who appears next to Yunhway, Jett, whose flying daggers show up in one scene, and Sova who appears next to Nafla.
