Mandopop superstar JJ Lin’s esports organization, Team SMG (Still Moving Under Fire), recently unveiled a fresh rebrand for 2022.
Their distinctly orange colored typeface has been stylized into a sleek logo called the “Team SMG Core Heart”, where the letters “S”, “M” and “G” are packed into a heart shape to symbolize “the heart of champions”.
The organization made headlines last year when their revamped Mobile Legends: Bang Bang roster upset defending champions, Todak, in a MPL Malaysia Season 8 grand final sweep. They are currently competing in five titles, fielding teams in Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Valorant, PUBG Mobile, and Peacekeeper Elite in China.

The meaning behind Team SMG’s 2022 rebrand
The esports organization highlighted that the “heart of champions” include both players and fans who form the center of their community, where they aim to nurture talent “without bias or discrimination”.
“The Core Heart falls perfectly into place with our philosophy as an esports organization and what we set out to do in the community,” General Manager Orrin Xu elaborated.
Along with the rebrand campaign, the organization also launched a new revamped website, TeamSMG.gg, and promises a new online store where fans can purchase merchandise as well as the new Team SMG jersey.
