At Riot Games’ 10th anniversary celebration event, the League of Legends developer announced a massive number of projects it’s currently working on, including a card game, a fighting game, an action RPG game, and perhaps most surprisingly, a tactical shooter.
Codenamed Project A, the title is still in the early development stage, but conceptually sounds quite similar to Blizzard’s Overwatch.
Riot describes it as “a stylish, competitive, character-based tactical shooter with a lethal cast of characters, each with unique abilities that create tactical opportunities for their gunplay to shine”.

Unlike Riot’s upcoming card game and fighting game, Project A will not be set in League’s Runeterra universe, but instead will be set on “a beautiful near-future Earth”.
In a teaser video for Project A, executive producer, Anna Donlon, also promised that Riot will be putting extra effort into its cheat detection program, and ensuring that the game’s netcode runs smoothly.
