Chinese video game developer HoYoverse is giving away free Primogems to all travelers as compensation for content delays in their open-world RPG Genshin Impact.
The developer previously announced the postponement of the version 2.7 update due to “project progress,” which could be caused by the ongoing zero-Covid policy implemented in multiple cities in China. HoYoverse is based in Shanghai, where all public transportation is suspended, and all non-essential businesses are temporarily closed.
Genshin Impact compensation includes free Primogems
HoYoverse will give out plenty of Primogems, Mora, and other items as compensation for the content delay, issued every week. Travelers should receive the following items via their in-game mail every Wednesday at 4 a.m. server time starting May 11:
QUANTITY | REWARD |
400 | Primogems |
1 | Fragile Resin |
7 | Hero’s Wit |
16 | Mystic Enhancement Ore |
120,000 | Mora |

All compensation must be claimed before the end of version 2.6, which will soon be announced by the developers.
If the period between the version 2.7 update and the previous weekly compensation for the delayed update is less than a week, the final weekly compensation will be adjusted accordingly according to HoYoverse.
Only travelers who have reached Adventure Rank 5 and above by May 11 will receive this Genshin Impact compensation.
Due to the delays, Kamisato Ayaka’s banner has been extended indefinitely.
