Genshin Impact’s first-year anniversary is just around the corner. This open-world miHoYo game was released last September 28, 2020.
Since then, millions of players have participated in numerous Genshin Impact events, starting with Unreconciled Stars last year.
Let us take a trip down Teyvat memory lane as we rank five flagship Genshin Impact events from worst to best. These considered are classified as major Genshin Impact events, ones that gave away free Talent level-up material Crown of Insight.
Major Genshin Impact events ranked from worst to best
5. Meeting Fischl and Mona during the Unreconciled Stars event was fate
Duration: November 16, 2020 to November 30, 2020
Unreconciled Stars showcased the personalities of the chuunibyou princess Fischl and the financially challenged astrologist Mona. It also dived a bit into the game’s main story, introducing Inazuma’s Scaramouche and revealing the Dragonspine area.
While it was an enjoyable event full of combat quests, Unreconciled Stars consumed Original Resin to participate. This energy requirement made the experience more difficult. Later on, miHoYo removed the Original Resin requirement starting from events in version 1.2.
Unreconciled Stars is also one of the first Genshin Impact events which introduced the co-op system.
4. The Chalk Prince and the Dragon introduced Dragonspine
Duration: December 23, 2020 to January 5, 2021
Dragonspine remains to be one of the most hated places in Teyvat because of its Sheer Cold effect, which forces players to constantly find a source of heat.
However, The Chalk Prince and the Dragon event made the place a lot more bearable, for it let us into Albedo’s workstation in the middle of the snowy mountains.
Aside from the debut of the charming geo alchemist, The Chalk Prince and the dragon also rewarded players with the Festering Desire sword. The event-exclusive four-star sword Festering Desire remains to be one of the best DPS weapons in the game.
While the real world celebrated the holiday season, Genshin Impact players had fun in the virtual world fighting off the Cryo Regisvine with their Teyvat friends.
3. Liyue’s Lantern Rite festival was unforgettable
Duration: February 10 to February 28, 2021
Admit it — no other event can top Liyue’s Lantern Rite in terms of visuals.
The Lantern Rite event is one of the most gorgeous Genshin Impact events, with thousands of sky lanterns floating above the Teyvat night sky. Walking around the adorned streets of Liyue Harbor, this event managed to make Teyvat’s largest market harbor even more festive.
The Lantern Rite event also introduced the tower defense game mode Theater Mechanicus which integrated elemental reactions into Mechanicis (towers).
Despite being a sight for sore eyes, a huge chunk of the Lantern Rite event involved running random errands for Liyue’s non-player characters (NPCs). Completing all tasks unlocked a breathtaking Genshin Impact cutscene featuring the Anemo DPS Xiao.

2. We absolutely loved Mondstadt’s Invitation of Windblume event
Duration: March 19 to April 15, 2021
We can’t just let Liyue have all the fun when it comes to Genshin Impact events. The Invitation of Windblume is another in-game festivity centered on Mondstadt.
Mondstadt’s Invitation of Windblume offered tons of co-op fun, including its Festive Challenges and Peculiar Wonderland challenges. Travelers experienced a total of 11 mini-games with these two combined.
The Invitation of Windblume gadget Windsong Lyre was a special treat, especially for music fans. This gadget allowed players to unleash their melodic creativity and play music.
Overall, Mondstadt’s Invitation of Windblume is far better than Liyue’s Lantern Rite. The former immersed players with Mondstadt characters like Venti, Jean, and Lisa, making the experience and story more enjoyable to all Travelers.
1. The Midsummer Island Adventure is the best out of all Genshin Impact events so far
Duration: June 9 to June 28, 2021
Genshin Impact version 1.0 certainly went out with a bang (or should we say ka-boom?), and it’s all thanks to the Midsummer Island Adventure.
Out of all the Genshin Impact events, the Midsummer Island Adventure is the best one to date.
The Midsummer Island Adventure stars everyone’s favorite Mondstadt cutie Klee, along with her mother figure Jean and sister Barbara.
The Midsummer Island Adventure was perfect due to its compelling story, brand new location at the Golden Apple Archipelago, and fresh game mechanics like the Waverider and the Wind-Blessed Harpastum. It reminded high-level players of the joy of exploring an undiscovered area, with tons of puzzles and stories to unearth.
The cherry on top was Midsummer Island Adventure’s Act IV “The Final Riddle: A Secret Uncovered”, which brought together all of our beloved Mondstadt characters in one epic scene.
More importantly, the final phase of the event teased an important Mondstadt character. Fans are hoping this mysterious character will become playable soon!
