When you start your Teyvat journey, one of the first characters you’ll meet in Mondstadt is Venti, the Archon of the Anemo element. He is known throughout the City of Wind as a jolly and spontaneous fellow, wandering around with his trusty lyre, the Der Frühling.

He is a highly-recommended character, especially for players who are just starting out in HoYoverse’s role-playing game.

Wanna know why he is worth all your precious Primogems? We’ll give you five reasons.

5 reasons why you should pull for Venti

5. He is literally an exploration god because of his elemental skill, Skyward Sonnet

Are you having some trouble reaching Teyvat’s highest places and squeezing in-between hidden nooks and crannies? Venti’s elemental skill, Skyward Sonnet, is the answer to your exploration dilemmas.

Skyward Sonnet summons a Wind Domain that Venti and other characters in your party can briefly ride, a useful feature for obtaining hard-to-reach Oculi, hidden chests, and sometimes level-up materials.

It is a very helpful skill, especially for beginners who are looking into exploring areas to a full 100%.

Whoever said the Anemo element sucks clearly hasn’t seen Venti’s elemental burst, Wind’s Grand Ode.

The windborne bard’s ultimate basically launches one massive wind arrow which sucks opponents in for a good eight seconds, making it a beast in domains and tight spaces.

It is best used against hordes of slimes and packs of treasure hoarders as an effective and effortless crowd control ability.

What’s more, Wind’s Grand Ode has elemental absorption, making the Anemo Archon a pretty flexible pair with any Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro characters.

3. Listen up weebs! Venti’s Japanese voice actor is the talented Ayumu Murase

Anime fans will instantly recognize his Japanese voice actor, who is none other than Ayumu Murase.

Ayumu is a man of many voice styles, ranging from deep, mature ikemen (handsome man) voices to high-pitched, girly, kawaii voices such as Venti’s. Some of his notable characters include Hinata Shoyo from Haikyuu!, Allen Walker from D.Gray-man, and Luck Voltia from Black Clover.

Ayumu’s charming voice perfectly captures Venti’s carefree and relaxed personality in Genshin Impact. He is very much invested in the Anemo Archon’s lore, particularly about the character’s old friend.

“When there is a chance for his old friend to appear in Genshin Impact, I really hope they will let me voice him,” the Japanese voice actor said in an interview with HoYoverse.

A prankster by day, a wine lover by night — these are just some of the things that make Venti the most spontaneous and carefree Archon you’ll ever meet.

Known throughout Mondstadt as the drunken bard, he is often seen carrying a bottle of dandelion wine, his favorite drink. He likes to play songs on his wooden lyre whenever he’s sober, as seen in previous Genshin Impact event cutscenes.

Mi muhe ye, Venti!

1. You’ve got a friend in Venti

Venti is very approachable and friendly to everyone in Mondstadt. His loyalty and thoughtfulness as a friend is unmatched.

Warning: Major spoilers if you have yet to play Carmen Dei Chapter: Act I – Should You Be Trapped in a Windless Land.

The bard started out as a small, floating wind spirit before adapting his old friend’s likeness. His friend was a young boy who stood up and died fighting a Mondstadt tyrant to liberate the City of Wind. The Anemo Archon later took on the boy’s form to honor him and to protect the freedom that he fought for.

Many travelers shed their tears during Venti’s story quest, especially when he started reciting the very first song that he heard from his now deceased friend:

Fly, fly away.
Like a bird in the sky.
See the world on my behalf…
To the heavens may you fly…
