This is the third article in a series about Hu Tao summoning rituals. You can read the second article about the Qiqi and Zhongli bait.
Welcome back to another Genshin Impact article where I spend my hard-earned Primogems and Intertwined Fates on superstitious gacha rituals to summon the adorably peculiar five-star character, Hu Tao.
I am already on day three of my quest and she still has not come home yet. You can read about my progress and my previous Hu Tao summoning rituals here.
Today, I will be lighting things up (literally) since I am already halfway through my list of Hu Tao summoning , and I’m starting to get a bit desperate.

Looking for Hu Tao summoning rituals? This one lets you light candles
Whether it’s just for the memes or the dreams, I have seen a lot of Genshin Impact players post photos of their gacha rituals involving some kind of pentagram and lit candles, with their phones at the center for good luck. I will be doing a variation of that gacha ritual in this article.
Hu Tao’s element is Pyro, and what better way to entice someone who plays with fire than actual fire?
For this ritual, I bought three of the biggest candles I could find from the supermarket, printed some photos of our target five-star character, and taped them on each candle.
I started to look for a good place to light the candles — somewhere dark to emphasize the fire and somewhere that is an open space to avoid burning down my house (and my neighbor’s).
After finding a nice spot that could pass for the setting for Edgar Allen Poe’s The Cask of Amontillado, I carefully lit the wick of each candle and then placed my phone opposite the center candle prior to doing the actual Wish process.
Here is a video of me performing the gacha ritual:
After performing the ritual, remember to extinguish the flames from all the candles that you used, just like how this experiment extinguished all of my hopes and dreams of getting Hu Tao.
The result
Three-star weapon: Emerald Orb.
Two Emerald Orbs in a row? HoYoverse, that’s too much!
Thinking about trying this ritual for yourself? Don’t bother.
This Hu Tao summoning ritual was a total dud, but at least now I have some artisanal homemade Hu Tao candles that I can try to sell online as I prepare for my next ritual — visiting a memorial park.
