Riot Games associate game designer Tim “TheTruexy” Jiang shared the League of Legends patch 12.12 preview today on Twitter, giving us a first look at how the game developers plan to further implement balance changes post-patch 12.10’s Durability Update.
While Grievous Wounds was weakened in patch 12.11, Riot noticed “healing outliers,” and will be adjusting Soraka’s and Yuumi’s healing this patch. Lead game designer Matt “RiotPhroxzon” Leung-Harrison added that the team plans to “balance around 40% Grievous Wounds” because if it’s too strong, it creates “champion design debt.”
Other meta champions with a high win rate in ranked, namely Janna, Lucian, and Fiora will also receive nerfs. Even though Bel’Veth’s win rate sat at 38% after one day of release, according to U.GG, it has since climbed to 47.68% as more players get better at playing her.
Katarina and Shaco, two champions with a 49% win rate in high Elo solo queue, will also have their build paths adjusted to hopefully cater for AP, AD, or hybrid variations.
