Golden Guardian’s Kim “Olleh” Joo-sung is a talented South Korean support player who excels on both enchanters and engagers. In Week 2 of the 2022 LCS Summer Split, he surprised by picking neither.
Instead, Olleh took a chance on Dr Mundo support–a champion that hasn’t been picked once in Season 12 until today. Up against TSM who had already revealed their double AP bot lane, Golden Guardians took a risk on Dr Mundo support paired with fasting AD carry Senna at bot.
His passive, Goes Where He Pleases, naturally grants him immunity to immobilizing effects, neutralizing the impact of Seraphine and Karma. By taking the farm, Olleh could stack tanky items that made him practically unkillable, leading GG to a 34-minute victory with a perfect 2/0/6 KDA.

Dr Mundo support is great into double AP bot lane and TSM’s short ranged team composition
Golden Guardians reaped early kills at bot, while TSM’s jungler Mingyi “Spica” Lu focused his efforts at top since they counter picked Gnar on red side. Trading blows, both teams were on equal footing in the early game.
Even though TSM had control over the first two dragons, they were still trailing in gold in the mid-game, largely due to the farm difference in mid laners. Huang “Maple” Yi-Tang’s Yasuo played a defensive laning phase and didn’t die once, but was down 50 minions against a long-ranged Corki.
Problems with TSM’s team composition started to surface in the mid to late game. When Golden Guardians pushed out mid and top lane and spotted Maple’s Yasuo at bot, they made the call to do Baron. TSM scrambled to try to punish, but their positioning put them in a disadvantage.
Olleh’s Mundo single-handedly zoned out their Seraphine and Karma double AP bot lane, walking up to their face, throwing cleavers, and slowing them down while the rest of his team focused on Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon’s Gnar over the wall. What’s more, Maple hadn’t even arrived to the fight, and it was already 4v5.
Using this Baron buff, GG took control of the game and snowballed their lead. Even though TSM were hoping to pull off a Yasuo wombo-combo, their team composition was too short-ranged against Senna and Corki. They were also too far behind after individual members got caught out in awkward spots, and hence never got the chance to execute their single win condition.
After Week 2, TSM and Golden Guardians are tied 2-3 in the standings. Both of these teams will face MSI 2022 3rd-4th place finishers Evil Geniuses next week in what could be their biggest challenge yet.
