Full roster of every team competing in LCK Spring 2023

The League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) is back on top following DRX’s Worlds 2022 championship victory against fellow Korean team T1.

Despite winning Worlds just a few months ago, three starting players of DRX have already found a new home for LCK Spring 2023.

The LCK is introducing a new double-elimination competitive format for its Spring and Summer playoffs, allowing teams to compete in a lower bracket starting from the third round.

Which squad will rise as the kings of the region? Here’s the full roster of every team competing in the LCK Spring 2023.

Full roster of every team competing in LCK Spring 2023

BRION

Following their ninth-place finish in Summer 2022, BRION rounds out their pre-existing core of Park “Morgan” Gi-tae and Park “Hena” Jeung-hwan with two new recruits.

The team signs former Hanwha Life Esports mid laner Kim “Karis” Hong-jo and former Nongshim RedForce support Lee “Effort” Sang-ho. Effort brings years of LCK experience to the table. Aside from Nongshim, the support has played a starting position for both T1 and SANDBOX Gaming.

BRION also promoted Academy player Jeon “Raptor” Eo-jin.

Dplus KIA

Dplus KIA is ready to go all the way with one of the biggest star signings from the offseason.

The LCK organization picks up Worlds 2022 champion Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu as their newest bot laner. The LoL veteran led DRX to their first Worlds victory and proved that he’s still a world-class AD carry.

In a 2023 roster video, Deft mentioned that he chose to join Dplus KIA because he saw them as a “mighty team” that always had a chance to win championships.

Kim “Canna” Chang-dong also joins the org as the starting top laner. Canna spent last year in Nongshim RedForce, playing alongside other top players like Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong and Jang “Ghost” Yong-jun.

DRX

DRX rebuilds around Worlds 2022 support Cho “BeryL” Geon-hee for the 2023 season.

The Worlds 2022 champs signed jungler Kim “Croco” Dong-beom and top laner Kim “Rascal” Kwang-hee, who previously played for Liiv SANDBOX and KT Rolster respectively.

Former DK player Seo “deokdam” Dae-gil will join BeryL in the bot lane as the team’s starting AD carry.

Gen.G

Following the departure of Worlds 2017 champion Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk, Gen.G has brought in new blood for the bot lane.

The team promotes GEN Challengers bot laner Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan to the main LCK roster. The 17-year-old rookie has been with the organization for two years, and will now represent them until 2024.

Joining Peyz in the bot lane is support Yoo “Delight” Hwan-joong. Delight has clocked in a year in the LCK as a rising support from Fredit BRION.

Star veterans Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon, Han “Peanut” Wang-ho, and Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon will continue to play for the organization. The trio was crucial in winning Gen.G’s first-ever LCK championship in the 2022 Summer Final.

Hanwha Life Esports

After back-to-back tenth-place finishes in 2022, Hanwha Life Esports goes big during the offseason by recruiting three world champions.

The organization signs Worlds 2021 champion Park “Viper” Do-hyeon as its starting bot laner for 2023. The former EDG player is known for his aggressive playstyle. By the end of LPL Spring 2021, Viper was top three in terms of KDA, kill share, and a handful of other statistics according to Oracle’s Elixir.

World champions Kim “Zeka” Geon-woo and Hwang “Kingen” Seong-hoon also join the squad. Their recent Worlds 2022 run with DRX displayed their ability to take charge and dominate in best-of-five matches.

To complete the roster, HLE welcomed jungler Kim “Clid” Tae-min and support Kim “Life” Jeong-min.

KT Rolster

KT Rolster builds their 2023 roster around key players Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan and Kim “Aiming” Ha-ram.

Top laner Kim “Kiin” Gi-in and mid laner Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong has joined the KT squad. In Summer 2022, Kiin led the Kwangdong Freecs to an astonishing win over T1 that shatter their 24-match win streak.

The team’s biggest signing is Son “Lehends” Si-woo. Lehends is considered one of the best supports of the league, known for using unorthodox picks like Singed. He recently won the LCK Summer Final with Gen.G.

Kwangdong Freecs

Kwangdong Freecs goes for a full roster rebuild this 2023 Spring.

They’ve picked up Lee “Dudu” Dong-ju, Ko “YoungJae” Yeong-jae, Lee “BuLLDoG” Tae-young, Kim “Taeyoon” Tae-yoon, and Yoon “Jun” Se-jun as their new starting five.

Dudu spent over two years as HLE’s starting top laner.

Liiv SANDBOX

Following a sensational third-place finish in Summer 2022, Liiv SANDBOX looks to continue their momentum with some new talent.

LSB had signed Noh “Burdol” Tae-yoon and Kim “Willer” Jeong-hyeon for the top and jungle roles respectively. Burdol’s standout moment in 2022 was when he subbed in for Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon during the LCK Regional Qualifiers.

With Lee “Prince” Chae-hwan leaving the team, substitute Lee “Envyy” Myeong-joon will be stepping in as the starting bot laner.

Nongshim RedForce

Nongshim RedForce is eyeing a fresh start with a squad-wide promotion.

The NS Challengers roster, consisting of Park “DnDn” Geun-woo, Lee “Sylvie” Seung-bok, An “FIESTA” Hyeon-seo, Ha “vital” In-seong, and Jeong “Peter” Yoon-su, will compete in the LCK.

Out of the five fresh faces, Peter has the most LCK experience. He was NS’ starting support for a total of four months during Spring 2022.

T1

T1 made zero changes to their lineup, and for good reason.

Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and the T1 squad had a standout track record in 2022. The team became LCK Spring Champions with an undefeated 18-0 regular season record. They also finished in second place at the Mid-Season Invitational, losing 3-2 to now three-time MSI champs, Royal Never Give Up.

During Worlds 2022, T1 eliminated top LPL teams RNG and JD Gaming in the Knockout Stage. Faker and the boys came close to hoisting the Summoner’s Cup, but lost to underdogs DRX 3-2 in a thrilling final.
