In the last match of Week 4 in the 2022 LCK Summer Split, T1 went up against the last placed team in the league, Fredit BRION. Just two days before on Friday, they secured a hard fought 2-1 win over rivals Gen.G.
In game one, T1 selected meta duo Lucian and Nami for their bot lane in the first pick and ban phase on blue side, adding LeBlanc and Xin Zhao for additional high single-target damage. Fredit BRION responded with a wombo combo centered around Samira, with Amumu support, Wukong jungle, and Sejuani top.
Even though BRO secured all four dragons in the game and Hextech Soul, keeping it competitive, they lost a single late game team fight around Elder Dragon 28 minutes in, which costed them game one.
Now on red side, T1 pulled out their own wombo combo ideas, which saw them taking two pages off G2 Esports’ playbook, drafting Yasuo, Yone, Diana, and even support Lee Sin.

At Mid-Season Invitational Rumble Stage, LEC powerhouse G2 Esports shattered T1’s 26-match win streak–which begun at the start of the year in the 2022 LCK Spring Split–with a risky Yasuo wombo combo team composition facilitated by Diana jungle and Ornn top.
On the opening week of LEC Summer 2022, G2 Esports made waves again against Rogue, where they selected Yasuo for mid laner Rasmus “caPs” Borregaard Winther, top lane Yone for Sergen “Broken Blade” Çelik, Diana jungle for Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski, and even put their bot laner Victor “Flakked” Lirola Tortosa on Swain to complete the wombo.
In T1’s version of the Yasuo, Yone, and Diana wombo combo, they switched it up by drafting support Lee Sin for Ryu “Keria” Min-seok who took the farm alongside Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong’s fasting Senna.
Outplaying BRO in early game skirmishes, T1 led by more than 5,000 gold at the 15-minute mark. At the second Rift Herald spawn, that’s where things really started heating up as all 10 players gathered to contest this objective.

T1 were on red side, but they managed to wrap around BRO’s blue side jungle, sandwiching them in the process. Even though Keria used Dragon’s Rage on Choi “Sw0rd” Sung-won’s Gnar a little early, it was Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun who captured an opportune moment, flashing in with Moonfall, finding three key targets.
In a flash, Faker’s Yasuo followed up with Last Breath, while Choi “Zeus” Woo-je’s Yone zoomed in with his own ultimate. Even though Diana’s life was sacrificed the process, it was a worthy one, for Oner’s engage gave T1 the ace against Fredit BRION, tipping the gold lead and tempo entirely in their favor.
Taking all four dragons in the game, Cloud Soul, and racking up a large 14,000 gold lead, T1 quickly finished off their opponents in just 23 minutes. Zeus led the pack, dishing out 28.2% of the team’s total damage on Yone with a positive 8/1/11 KDA, and won the MVP Player of the Game.
Fredit BRION did not even take down a single tower nor did they manage to secure any objectives in game two. After this series loss, they are now 0-8 in the LCK, last place out of 10 teams, while T1’s 7-1 match record puts them in second after Gen.G.
T1 will face Hanwha Life Esports in Week 5 on July 13, while Fredit BRION take on Nongshim RedForce on July 15. Fans can watch the 2022 LCK Summer Split on the official English and Korean Twitch LCK channels.
