The Mid-Season Invitational 2022 (MSI 2022) is the second-biggest international event of the year in League of Legends esports.
This year, 11 of the best teams from around the world will gather in Busan, South Korea from May 10 to 29. This will be South Korea’s first time hosting an MSI event, and matches will be held in Busan’s 4,002-capacity Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) in front of a live audience.
LCK Spring champions T1 head into the event as heavy favorites to lift the MSI trophy, after notching a historic undefeated split that included a record 18-0 run during the regular season.

Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, CIS league LCL will not be sending a team to MSI 2022 after the LCL Spring Split was canceled.
The VCS will send Saigon Buffalo Esports to MSI, who finished second in the VCS Spring 2022 playoffs as championship winners GAM Esports will represent their country at the SEA Games.

The tournament will follow a similar format to last year, with a group stage, rumble stage, and knockout stage.
