Esmeralda has recently become one of the most popular heroes in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, played as an offlaner in competitive and ranked games.
With a 1-3-1 formation, soloing a sidelane can be very effective. She is frequently used against Uranus, one of the best performing offlaners when he is in the meta.
Her ability to absorb the opponent’s shield is very effective against other offlaners. Unsurprisingly, she and Uranus are two of the most banned heroes in Mythical Glory.

Thamuz
A fighter offlaner who is still strong and adept, Thamuz is the perfect counter for Esmeralda because this hero is pure physical damage.
His ability to continue pressuring her with his fire wheels and burst damage means that he’s able to curb her capability to regenerate and add shields.
Valir
Playing Valir in a sidelane is no easy matter. Still, this is a viable strategy if you want to counter Esmeralda. Burst Fireball will prevent her from moving freely, and deter her from walking up to Valir.
She would not be able to farm, and can’t lane well in this matchup.
Gusion
Even without a buff, Gusion will be useful against her. A hero who deals the second highest damage after hypercarries, and can finish off enemies with high regeneration.
Uranus and Esmeralda are two heroes that Gusion can kill. The reason is simple: Gusion has very large burst damage, and they will not have time to regen.
