A new breed of esports heroes will rise in the Philippines.
After launching its franchise-based league in the Philippines in 2021, Moonton is once again expanding its esports ecosystem in the country with the launch of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Development League Philippines (MDL PH).
Rumors started after a Facebook page named MDL Philippines surfaced last month, sparking questions on whether it was official or just a fan page. A Moonton spokesperson confirmed to ONE Esports that the page is legitimate.

MDL PH schedule and more details
According to numerous posts on the page, the league will happen sometime this year.
There’s a chance that it will commence between February to April, based on the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang 2023 tournament roadmap shown during the M4 World Championship grand final.
There are no announcements as to how many teams will participate or whether there will be new teams joining the tournament.
Once confirmed, MDL Philippines will be Moonton’s second development league, after MDL Indonesia which was established in 2019 to go along with the newly-formed franchise league model of MPL ID.
In MDL ID, all MPL teams are guaranteed their own slot with additional teams coming from the qualifiers.
