The secret is out.
Every esports fan has probably heard of Team Secret. Known for its Dota 2 and Valorant teams, the organization is one of the biggest in the world in terms of popularity and reach.
It recently entered the mobile esports market with the announcement of its Wild Rift squad back in 2021. Unfortunately, the team was disbanded a year after despite a solid 3rd-4th place finish at the Horizon Cup, the game’s inaugural world championship tournament.
It’s not the end for Team Secret and mobile MOBA esports, however, as the organization may be eyeing an MLBB team this year. Here are three clues that suggest it’s just a matter of time before we see the famous eye symbol in the Land of Dawn soon.
3 clues that prove Team Secret is entering MLBB esports
A cryptic Facebook post was released after the M4 World Championship
After the M4 World Championship grand final, Team Secret’s official Facebook page posted a picture showing the iconic eye logo with the MLBB app logo on top of it. The caption reads “What’s up, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang?”
Shortly after the post went viral, Secret released a video showing a screen of a smartphone with the MLBB app being downloaded.
Team Secret CEO hints at interest in forming an MLBB team
Secret CEO John Yao also posted on his personal Facebook account, asking fans if he should buy an MLBB team.
This represents a departure from his previous statement. In an interview with Yahoo Esports last year, Yao said that the organization has no plans to acquire an MLBB team yet, because it does not have enough viewers outside the Philippines and Indonesia.

Team Secret may have just acquired a Malaysian team
Former members of Orange Esports in Season 10 have also formed a new in-game squad called Team Secret. Members of the squad include Luk “Valenz” Yip, Muhammad “Neo” Ahmad, and Wan Mohamad Danish Safwan “Subway” Bin Mohd Sakirin.
Orange Esports finished third in MPL MY Season 10 and 9th-12th place at ONE Esports MPLI 2022. Shortly after, the organization announced that it had released all of its players.
If confirmed, its MLBB team would be the second Malaysian team playing under Team Secret, alongside its PUBG: Mobile team, which was formed in 2019.
