What is the M4 World Championship?
The M4 World Championship is the fourth iteration of the biggest and most prestigious Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament in the world.
In this tournament, 16 qualified teams from different regions will cross swords for the lion’s share of the US$800,000 prize pool and the right to be called the best MLBB team in the world.
Last year, the Philippines’ Blacklist International were the ones to walk away with the M3 World Championship crown, and they will be looking to defend their title.
M4 World Championship format
The tournament is split into two parts – the group stage and the knockout stage.
In the group stage, the 16 qualified teams are split into four groups and will play in a best-of-one, single round-robin format. The top two of each group will proceed to the upper bracket while the bottom two will be placed in the lower bracket.
The knockout stage will have a double-elimination format. All series in the knockout stage are played in a best-of-five format, except for the first two rounds of the lower bracket and the grand final, which will be a best-of-three and best-of-seven series, respectively.
The matchups for the group stage were determined through a group draw livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube. Here is the result of the group draw.
