Saber is among the few assassin heroes in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang who excels in various roles as a jungler, EXP laner, or roamer.

With his immense early-game damage, he’s guaranteed a few kills in the first 10 minutes of the game. However, as the game progresses and the opposing team completes their defensive items, his effectiveness tends to diminish.

Fortunately, there are items available that can counteract this situation, and one of the best items for this purpose is War Axe.

Saber has often been considered a mid-tier hero because he doesn’t scale well into the late game. Although he possesses formidable damage in the early game, he typically struggles in the late game, particularly when opponents stack physical defense items.

War Axe allows him to overcome these shortcomings and has made him even more dangerous in the early to mid-game.

War Axe’s passive increases the hero’s physical attack by nine and physical penetration by three each second for three seconds, up to a maximum of eight stacks.

The item’s passive synergizes well with his passive, Enemy’s Bane, which reduces the target’s physical defense after each skill or basic attack.

Moreover, the item provides additional physical attack and cooldown reduction, making Saber a difficult opponent to counter in the early stages of the game.

To maximize the benefits of War Axe, it’s recommended to purchase War Axe first to maximize its benefits.

For your next item, choose either Hunter’s Strike or Blade of Despair, depending on how far ahead you are in the game. If you have a significant lead, prioritize Blade of Despair, but if not, go for Hunter’s Strike.

In the midgame, once everyone on the enemy team has at least one defensive item, it’s advisable to build Malefic Roar for the physical penetration it provides.

Alternatively, you can opt for Endless Battle or Immortality if you’re having difficulty surviving in team fights.
