Martis, the Ashura King, possesses a unique skill set that makes him a highly versatile fighter hero in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

He has multiple crowd control skills, control immunity, attack speed buff, and burst physical damage from his ultimate that resets right away when you take down an enemy hero using it.

One of his key strengths is his ability to function effectively in the EXP lane or jungle. This allows him to be flexible when it comes to item builds, making him a valuable addition to any team composition.

Learn how to play this hero using this extensive guide which includes recommended emblems, battle spells, best build, skill tips, and combos.

Martis’ skills in Mobile Legends

Passive – Ashura’s Wrath

Each time Martis uses a skill, his attack speed will be increased, capped at four stacks. The effect lasts for four seconds.

He gains extra physical attack at full stacks.

  • The duration resets whenever he uses a skill.
  • Learn how his second skill, Mortal Coil, works to maximize his passive.

First skill – Ashura Aura

Martis draws enemies to a fan-shaped area in front of him and deals physical damage, slowing them for a few seconds.

  • He moves a bit forward after casting the ability, so be careful when using this near enemy turrets.

Second skill – Mortal Coil

Martis strikes in the target direction three times, each time dealing physical damage to enemies hit. Enemies hit by the first and third strike are also knocked back. The attack direction can be changed once using the joystick.

Use again: He leaps in the target direction, dealing physical damage to enemies in his path and knocking them airborne.

He gains control immunity and damage reduction when casting this skill.

  • Using Mortal Coil alone can fully stack Ashura’s Wrath.
  • The skill’s cooldown starts after casting the first phase, letting you maximize his passive.
  • Upon casting, there will be a slight delay before the first slash occurs. So, get as close as possible to your opponent when using this.
  • You can change direction on the third slash.
  • You can use Flicker during skill animation.
  • While this can fully stack his passive, its first phase only gives one stack to Brute Force Breastplate.
  • Suppression can interrupt this skill, making him vulnerable to Kaja and Franco’s ultimates.
  • This skill allows him to stop Johnson‘s ultimate, Rapid Touchdown, while being immune to its stun effect.

Ultimate – Decimation

Martis lunges at a designated enemy hero, dealing huge physical damage.

If the enemy is killed by this skill, he can cast it again within 10 seconds, and gains extra movement speed that gradually decays. Each successive cast also increases the skill’s damage.

  • Cooldown triggers when you are unable to kill the target.
  • This skill deals true damage if the enemy’s HP is below 50 percent.
  • When an enemy hero’s HP drops below 40 percent, a mark will appear beneath them, helping you determine when to strike them with the ultimate.
  • If you successfully killed a hero equipped with Immortality, the cooldown still resets and you still gain movement speed bonus, letting you finish off the target after resurrecting.
  • Bonuses are also applied by decimating Vexana’s Cursed Oath puppet or heroes resurrected by Faramis’s Cult Altar.
  • This skill can be interrupted by crowd control effects during dashing, and can be disabled by root effect.

Recommended battle spell

Flicker provides you extra mobility, allowing you to chase down low-health enemies and slay them using Decimation. Additionally, it can help you get out of sticky situations.

Alternatively, if you’re playing as a jungler, Retribution is the clear choice.

Recommended emblem

Fighter emblem works best for Martis. Focus on Bravery and Invasion for physical attack and penetration. Pick Festival of Blood as your primary talent for spell vamp.

Select Jungle emblem instead if you’re playing as a jungler. Max out Brutal for extra damage to monsters, and Swift for additional attack speed, enabling you to clear camps quickly.

To further enhance your jungle performance, choose the Demon Slayer key talent. This lets you deal extra damage against Lord and Turtle, while reducing the damage you take from them.

Best item build

Building items for Martis depends on your role. However, it’s essential to balance offense and defense to ensure that you can deal significant damage while also staying alive in team fights and objective taking.

If you’re playing as the EXP laner, buy Boots based on your lane matchup. Follow it up with Hunter Strike, Bloodlust Axe, and Blade of Despair or Malefic Roar to boost your damage output.

For defense, consider purchasing Antique Cuirass or Blade Armor, and Athena’s Shield or Radiant Armor, depending on your enemy’s draft. In the late game, you may want to swap out one of these items for Immortality to have an extra life.

On the other hand, if you’re the jungler, your priority is to secure objectives. For this reason, building utility items is crucial.

Purchase Tough Boots with Ice Retribution, Cursed Helmet, Blade of Despair or Malefic Roar, Guardian Helmet, Immortality, and Antique Cuirass or Athena’s Shield. With these items, you can deal decent damage while providing utility and protection to your team.

If you’re playing in the side lane, harass your enemy by hitting them with Mortal Coil first, followed by Ashura Aura when you knock them airborne, and basic attacks.

Always remember that you can change the direction of Mortal Coil once, so knock your opponent away from their turret and into a more vulnerable position.

When you reach level four, you can unleash a deadly combo to bring down enemies. Use Mortal Coil, Ashura Aura, and swift basic attacks to lower their HP to a quarter before using Decimation for the finishing blow.
