Street Fighter V pro, DC “Infexious” Coleman, has been busy during quarantine creating new content for aspiring Street Fighter V pros.

The British player recently released a set of tutorial videos providing valuable insight into the correct way to execute a fireball trap.

Infexious explains, the idea is to trick opponents into jumping over your fireball and trying to land a counter-attack. But once the opponent is in the air, you hit them with an anti-air attack.

Infexious went on to explain how certain characters have different frame recoveries after being knocked down, or after throwing a fireball. He also talks about how players can escape fireball traps by changing the trajectory of their character’s jump, or using invulnerable moves that go through fireballs.

In a previous video, Infexious also explained “the shimmy.” You’ll often hear this phrase in high-level FGC tournaments, and it’s one of the most important (moves/maneuvers) professional players can use in competitive matches.

The shimmy is basically another way to open up opponents by punishing their attempt at teching a throw. By moving back slightly, players can dish out huge damage by tricking their opponents into teching a throw attempt. The shimmy also keeps the player safe from a wake-up Dragon Punch or Critical Art.

Infexious is known as one of the smartest players on the CPT, and currently plays for Team Beast with Daigo Umehara. Last year, he finished second at EGX 2019, losing to Adel “Big Bird” Anouche. He also finished in third place at EVO 2019, losing to Masato “Bonchan” Takahashi.
