The world’s best Tekken player, Bae “Knee” Jaemin, pulled through with another undefeated win at the Wellplayed Challenger, but he was not the only one showing off, as some of the best Japanese players took to the stage to provide us with exciting Tekken plays. Here are our picks.

Noroma vs. Super Akouma

Runner-up Takumi “Noroma” Hamasaki was dominating throughout his run to the Grand Finals. Against Vincent “Super Akouma” Homan though, he executed the most satisfying comeback with a perfectly-timed Debug Rage Drive.

Of course, the Frenchman got his turn in the limelight with the next play, where he performed a quick and deadly Hadouken in classic Street Fighter fashion.

Double vs. Chanel

Shoji “Double” Takakakubo was a menace against Kang “Chanel” Seong-ho. In the first highlight, Chanel’s chainsaw whiffed right above Double’s head while Double quickly responded with a dragon uppercut for the juggle combo.

Throughout the match, Chanel couldn’t get a break from the UYU player. With Chanel close to finishing the round, Double was able to get the wall splat with a kick combo and immediately initiated his Rage Art to finish the ROX Dragons member.

Chikurin vs. Double

This all Japanese matchup was a rematch in the making. With Double defeating Yuta “Chikurin” Take in the Grand Finals of Taipei Major 2019, Chikurin had no issues keeping the Law player in check. The Geese player went into Max mode and carried Double to the wall, ending it with a deadly throw.

Double still had some fight in him left and showed the Japanese veteran the way of the Dragon, doing double uppercuts and a legend kick to end one of their rounds together.

Kkokkoma vs. Chikurin

Kim “Kkokkoma” Mu-jong had Chikurin dropping his combos throughout their matchup. After Chikurin wasted a meter-burn combo, Kkokkoma was able to duck under his Rage Art and finish the Japanese pro with a “while-standing” combo.

Chikurin finally got his rhythm in the next highlight, performing an impressive wall-bounce combo to finish off the Kazumi player.

Chikurin vs. Noroma

Chikurin continued to have an incredible run in his home country. In the Howard Estate, the Geese player was able to break three walls to deal significant damage against Noroma. Although he wasn’t able to break the ledge as well, he ended the match with a fiery meter-burn combo and a quick low.

Noroma then made a quick return in a later round, where he stepped back from Chikurin, causing Chikurin to whiff, which Noroma then punished with a Rage Drive to finish it.

Knee vs. Kkokkoma

In one of the very few all-Korean matchups in the Osaka tournament, Knee showed why he is dubbed the Tekken God. With Steve, the Wellplayed champion executed two counter hit combos and ended the round with a quick uppercut.

Underdog Kkokkoma was able to one-up the seasoned pro in the next play. Although Knee was able to catch Kkokkoma in a wall-splat combo, the Kazumi player had done enough damage to win the round through a timeout.

Kkokkoma vs. Noroma

Although Kkokkoma was pushed to third place by Noroma, the Korean pro gave the COOAS player a worthy fight. In this highlight clip, Kkokkoma mauled Noroma with a tiger to take him into Rage mode. In an attempt to retaliate, Noroma put on his Rage Drive, but Kkokkoma quickly shut it down with a quick low.
