Cloud9 add runi and jakee to roster with big shoes to fill
The organization has been looking to fill the two spots left void with the recent departures of Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker and Anthony “vanity” Malaspina.
Jakee spent the majority of 2023 thus far competing in the collegiate scene with the University of St. Thomas. His accolades include helping the school qualify for the College Championship. This will be his first foray into the top tier of competitive Valorant.
Runi has previously been playing under the Soniqs banner. He filled the role of in-game leader for the squad and is expected to do the same for his new team.
It will be a trial by fire for these two given, the pressure placed on their shoulders. Stepping into an organization that is expected to compete at the top of the league, in addition to filling the shoes of veteran players like yay and vanity is a tall order.
Will they be up for the challenge? We’ll get our first look on April 3 when the team takes on Evil Geniuses in their debut in VCT Americas.
