The gaming and esports community is in for another treat as Mineski Philippines has announced a partnership with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines for a gaming showmatch in celebration of Earth Hour.
The playthrough series aims to raise funds for the provision of 100 education modules to Filipino students. The event will start at the launch of Earth Week on March 22 through the Philippine Pro Gaming League, the largest multi-game esports league in the country.
The event will culminate on March 27 with a League of Legends: Wild Rift celebrity showmatch with appearances from famous gaming personalities such as Yasumeow, Riku, Kaisaya, Vambby, Hypebeks, Fofi, Julia Npaz, and many more.

According to Mark Navarro, country manager of Mineski PH, they are excited to partner up with WWF-PH for Earth Hour. “Mineski has always been an advocate of teaching gamers the value of responsible gaming,”
“Together with our partner Riot Games, we hope to grow our community of young gamers into smart and socially conscious consumers,” he added.
Wild Rift regional marketing manager Nelson Woon also shared the same sentiment, expressing the importance of uniting gamers on building a sustainable environment for generations to come.
“As the video games industry and our gaming communities continue to grow, we believe that we have the ability to create a positive and lasting impact on the ecosystem we live in,” Woon said.
